Last weekend I stood in front of this filled area for the better part of an hour and used my fileboard to get the area fair. As I was sanding away I was reminded of (a) the importance of getting the planks flush (b) that epoxy is extremely hard and durable. What you see is about 90% finished, but will need a light coat of polyester body filler. I went out yesterday with the intention of putting on the filler, but wound up sanding instead.
Here I am hitting a few of the areas where I used thickened epoxy to patch knotholes and cracks. Eventually the whole hull will have to be sanded.
During my next session I hope to hit a few areas with polyester body filler, and continue sanding the hull.
